Hi, Y'all.  Wandering Acres Ranch got its name because we are a military family which moves a lot! One day we will settle down for good but that won't be until Joel retires from the army. We are a small family ran farm. We have horses, goats, dogs, and normally we have chickens as well! In the near future we will be adding cows, pigs and rabbits to our program as well. Besides the animal aspect we also love to garden and one day would love to have a bigger version of what we do now. For now, we reside in Chehalis, Wa.

We got into breeding Australian Shepherds specifically the "Mini" size because there are so many out there that are not true to standard or even looked like an aussie in some cases. We sure learned a lot our first year ( and we still are learning). At the end of our first year we started to switched our whole program to AKC Australian Shepherds. The reason for this switch is we never want anyone to question if our "mini" size aussie's are purebred. AKC will DNA test after so many litters. We also are very blessed to have found an amazing mentor breeder who has been breeding Aussie's for over 35 years.  We now are 100% an AKC australian shepherd breeder of all sizes. AKC does not recognize the size variety so it can be a bit confusing at times. Here at our ranch we have Aussie's from 13" tall-23", which by other registries would be toy, mini and standard size. You will also see that a lot of our dogs are dual registered or triple registered with ASDR and IMASC. This opens up more avenues for showing as well as some people's breeding programs.

We will continue to add to this site but for now if you have any questions at all please feel free to ask!
