Hi, Y'all. Wandering Acres Ranch got its name because we were a military family who moved around a lot. Joel, recently got out of the army and now we are settled back in our home state of Washington! We are a family ran farm. We have horses, cows, goats, pigs, chickens, bunnies, cats and dogs. Besides the animal aspect we also love to garden and one day would love to have a bigger version of what we do now. For now, we reside in Chehalis, Wa.
We got into breeding Australian Shepherds specifically the smaller size because there are so many out there that are not true to standard or even looked like an aussie in some cases. Even tho we have smaller sizes we also have a lot of the bigger sized Aussies. We sure learned a lot our first year ( and we still are learning). At the end of our first year we started to switched our whole program to AKC Australian Shepherds. The reason for this switch is we never want anyone to question if our smaller size aussie's are purebred. AKC will DNA test after so many litters and with being apart of Bred with Heart and Puppy Protection plan thru AKC we are held to a higher standard. We now are 100% an AKC/ASCA Australian Shepherd breeder of all sizes. AKC/ASCA does not recognize the size variety so it can be a bit confusing at times. Here at our ranch we have Aussie's from 14" tall-24", which by other registries would be mini and standard size. Again, all of our Aussie's regardless of size are just AKC Australian Shepherds. Some of our dogs are also dual registered with ASCA.
